Flora Taking (Biological Assessment) Licence - Western Australia

Description

You will require this licence if you intend to take inventory for environmental consulting services or obtaining specimens for identification purposes. Protected flora is defined as any plant (including any wildflower, palm, shrub tree, fern, creeper or vine) or any part of a plant, including seeds and spores. For this licence, flora does not include specifically controlled sandalwood.

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible for this licence, you must:

  • provide details of the purpose for which you intend to collect flora
  • identify the land which you intend to collect flora from
  • identify the flora to be taken
  • provide details of any prior wildlife convictions
  • provide details of any persons working under your supervision
  • obtain the written permission from the relevant Crown land Manager or other body or authority responsible for the care of the land from which you intend to collect flora
  • complete the required forms
  • pay the required fee
  • comply with any additional provisions outlined by the Agency.
