Description

You will need this permit if you intend to import firearms, major firearm parts or ammunition into Western Australia. You must apply for this permit prior to ordering and shipping the firearm(s) or ammunition.

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible for this permit you must:

  • be at least 18 years old
  • be a fit and proper person to hold this licence
  • provide proof of identification
  • provide a genuine reason for needing this permit
  • provide supporting documentation relevant to the firearms you intend to import.

If you intend to import firearms or major firearm parts which are not licensed in Western Australia, you must also obtain a Temporary Permit.

Further eligibility requirements may apply depending on the category of firearm.
