A licence defines the need to obtain recognition / certification and registration to undertake a certain business activity.

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible for this licence you must ensure that:

• The town planning scheme allows the establishment of an approved kennel on your premises;
• You, or another person who will have charge of the dogs will reside on the premises, or sufficiently close to the premises so as to control the dogs and ensure their health and welfare; and
• Give notice of the establishment of a kennel on your premises to the owners and occupiers of any adjoining premises, and in the local newspaper.

You must submit the required form to the Council together with:

• plans and specifications of the kennel, including a site plan
• copies of notice of proposed use
• written evidence that you, or another person will reside on, or sufficiently close to, the premises
• written acknowledgement that you have read and complied with any relevant code of practice
  
• the relevant fee.
