Fauna Taking (Biological Assessment) Licence - Western Australia

Description

You will need this licence if you intend to take or disturb fauna for biological assessment purposes. This includes capturing, collecting, release or study of fauna. Fauna means any animal native to Australia, and any animal that periodically migrates to and lives in Australia and includes any animal declared to be fauna by the Agency.

The licence may specify the:

  • greatest number of each or any species that may be taken, held or disposed of
  • parts of the State in which the fauna may be taken, held or released
  • person or bodies to whom the fauna may be transferred or the way the fauna may be disposed of.

This licence will not be granted to you if you are seeking to take fauna for a bioprospecting activity.
