Lobbyist Registration - Western Australia


You will need to be registered as a lobbyist if you intend to contact government representatives for the purpose of lobbying. The register provides information to the government and the public about who is lobbying the government and who lobbyists represent.

A lobbyist is a person or organisation who represents the interests of a third party to government.

There are situations when you may not need to be registered. These include:

  • people promoting the work of their employer to the government
  • organisations representing the interests of their members
  • trade unions
  • charitable and religious organisations
  • professionals where contacting government is incidental to, but necessary for their work.
