Major Events - Western Australia

Description

You will need to ensure that you have appropriate authorisation from the event organiser if you intend to undertake certain activities at a major event. Major events are those declared by the Minister and take place in areas and times designated under legislation.

Activities that may require particular authorisation at a major event may include:

  • road closure
  • usage and obstruction of closed roads and designated lanes, waterways and areas
  • sale or distribution of items and services
  • entry through non-designated areas, or without paying designated fees
  • entry to restricted areas
  • advertisement, marketing and broadcasting
  • recording
  • possession or consumption of liquor.
