You will need this lease if you intend to conduct mining production activities in Western Australia's onshore areas including:
- working and mining the land for any minerals
- taking and removing minerals and disposing of them
- taking and diverting water from any natural spring, lake, pool or stream for domestic or mining purposes
- do any and all things necessary to effectually carry out mining operations in, on or under the land.
You would ordinarily apply for this lease for an area over which you already hold an exploration licence. Exploration licence holders may need this lease when the exploration stage has reached a level of maturity, provided that the ground remains prospective and a resource has been discovered that can be developed commercially.
