Motor Vehicle Repair Business Licence - Western Australia

Description

You will need this licence if you intend to operate and / or advertise your services as a motor vehicle repair business. Repair work includes:

  • examining motor vehicles
  • diagnosing and detecting faults in motor vehicles
  • adjusting, servicing and maintaining motor vehicles
  • overhauling motor vehicles
  • replacing motor vehicle parts
  • modifying and altering motor vehicles
  • painting or treating the surfaces of motor vehicles.

A licence defines the need to obtain recognition / certification and registration to undertake a certain business activity.

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible for this licence you must:

  • be at least 18 years old
  • be a fit and proper person of good character and repute
  • have or employ at least one person who has a motor vehicle repairer's certificate for each intended operating premises
  • have sufficient resources to carry on your intended business
  • have authorised premises to operate from
  • hold a current National Police Certificate.

If you are applying as a partnership or company, each partner or director will need to meet the above requirements.
