On-Demand Booking Service Authorisation - Western Australia

Description

You will need this authorisation if you intend to take or facilitate bookings for an on-demand passenger transport service. This authorisation extends to drivers who facilitate the bookings they complete themselves.

An on-demand booking service provider is a person or organisation who receives requests from paying customers for transport. The booking may be facilitated through an automated or semi-automated electronic system, including an application, website or any other means of communication.

A licence defines the need to obtain recognition / certification and registration to undertake a certain business activity.

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible for this authorisation, you must:

  • state the maximum number of vehicles intended to be covered by the authorisation
  • provide a criminal record check dated no more than 3 months old
  • provide a declaration of responsible officers, all of whom must live in Australia and one must live in West Australia
  • disclose any previous on-demand booking service authorisation which has been cancelled or refused.

Ongoing eligibility requirements

To comply with the requirements of this authorisation, you must continue to:

  • prepare and maintain a safety management system
  • keep records on drivers, vehicles and services provided (including where and when transport was given)
  • provide a complaint resolution procedure
  • keep records of customer complaints.
