Permission to Erect or Alter a Fence (Private Property) - Shire of Toodyay - Western Australia

Description

You will require this permit if you intend to erect, construct or alter a fence which does not comply with the requirements of the local laws related to fencing. This includes: a fence on a rural lot, within 7.5m of a thoroughfare, which exceed 1500m in height; a freestanding fence constructed of corrugated fibre reinforced cemented sheeting within the front set-back area of a lot within the district.

A fence is any structure, including a retaining wall, used or functioning as a barrier, irrespective of where it is located and includes any gate.

Please not that you will also require a permit if you intend to construct or alter a fence, or undertake any excavation, on local government land. Please consult the Contact Officer for more information.
