Eligibility requirements

To be eligible to keep bees, you must be registered as a beekeeper under state legislation. You must also comply with any conditions set by the Council for the granting of this permit. These conditions may include:

the provision of a sufficient water supply on the land
keeping the bees a specified distance away from the boundary of your land
constructing a barrier to keep bees from flying low over adjacent land
the number of bee hives allowed on your land.
