To be eligible to keep bees, you must be registered as a beekeeper under state legislation. You must also comply with any conditions set by the Council for the granting of this permit. These conditions may include:
- the provision of a sufficient water supply on the land
- keeping the bees a specified distance away from the boundary of your land
- constructing a barrier to keep bees from flying low over adjacent land
- the number of bee hives allowed on your land.
