Permit to Prospect on Land within an Existing Exploration Licence - Western Australia

Description

You will need this permit to prospect for minerals on Crown land that is the subject of an exploration licence held by someone else. Activities permit holders can do include:

  • taking a maximum sample of 20 kilograms
  • only using tools that are not power or hydraulically driven hand-tools
  • prospecting to a depth of 2 metres from the natural surface
  • prospecting up to a minimum distance of 100 metres away from any activities carried out by the exploration licence holder.

Your permit will specify the area (graticular blocks) of land on which you are authorised to prospect for minerals. The maximum area is 10 connected blocks within the area of an exploration licence.

  • be an individual or partnership
  • hold a current miner's right.

You can apply for this permit with up to three holders, each of which will need to have a miner's right.
