You will need this licence if you intend to construct, alter or operate a petroleum pipeline in Western Australia. A petroleum pipeline is a pipe or system of pipes used to transport petroleum, including crude oil and natural gas, and includes associated structures such as storage tanks. There may be conditions attached to the licence including time limits on construction and a requirement that you obtain rights of access to all the land necessary to construct and operate the pipeline.
This licence does not apply to pipes used in the extraction of petroleum or to pipeline operations in the territorial sea, or outside the territory of Western Australia. If you intend to construct or operate such a pipeline you will need to apply for a different licence.
