Registration as a Licensed Land Surveyor - Western Australia

Description

You will need this registration if you intend to practice as a land surveyor in Western Australia. Surveying land includes the re-establishment of boundaries previously established. You will also need a valid annual Practising Certificate if you intend to make authorised surveys.

If you hold a current equivalent registration in another Australian State or Territory, or New Zealand, you may be eligible to apply for this registration under mutual recognition arrangements.

A licence defines the need to obtain recognition / certification and registration to undertake a certain business activity.

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible for this registration you must:

  • be at least 21 years of age
  • have completed an approved degree in surveying
  • have obtained a certificate of competency.

To obtain a certificate of competency you must have completed:

  • two years of training under a professional training agreement with a Licensed Surveyor
  • a survey law examination
  • practical examinations
  • projects
  • a professional interview.
