You will need this registration if you intend to practice as a land surveyor. Surveying land includes the re-establishment of boundaries previously established.

A licence defines the need to obtain recognition / certification and registration to undertake a certain business activity.

Eligibility requirements

There are two avenues to become registered as a licensed land surveyor.

The first avenue is for land surveyors licensed in another Australia state or territory or New Zealand who are eligible for mutual recognition.

The second avenue is for new applicants. You will:

  • need to be at least 18 years old
  • hold a 4 year Bachelor of Surveying Degree from a University equivalent to Curtin University
  • complete a 2 year Professional Training Agreement with a Licensed Surveyor
  • complete 5 projects and sit a series of practical and written assessments.
