To be eligible for this registration as an individual, you must have a veterinary degree from a recognised university, or other recognised qualification.
Registration is available for two types of body corporate:
- where all shareholders are veterinary surgeons
- where one shareholder is a registered veterinary surgeon and another is a person of good fame or character.
A body corporate must:
- have adequate insurance
- report to the board on the company's conduct
- ensure the company is managed by a registered veterinary surgeon.
Applicants must also be fit and proper to hold registration as a veterinarian.
You may be eligible to apply for this registration if you hold a current registration in another Australian state or territory, or from certain countries.
