High Risk Work Licence Assessor Registration - Western Australia


You will need this registration if you intend to assess the competency of high risk work licence applicants. High risk work (HRW) includes:

  • Scaffolding - basic, intermediate and advanced.
  • Rigging work - dogging, basic, intermediate and advanced rigging.
  • Crane and hoist operation - tower, self-erecting tower, derrick, portal boom, bridge and gantry, vehicle loading, non slewing mobile, slewing, materials hoist, personnel and materials hoist, boom-type elevating work platform, vehicle mounted concrete placing boom.
  • Forklift operation - forklift trucks, order-picking forklift trucks.
  • Pressure equipment operation - basic, intermediate and advanced boiler operation, turbine operation, reciprocating steam engine operation.

A licence defines the need to obtain recognition / certification and registration to undertake a certain business activity.

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible for this registration you must:

  • have held a HRW licence for at least three years in the class of HRW you intend to assess
  • have at least three years of extensive and recent operating experience as a senior operator or supervisor in that class of HRW you intend to assess
  • have completed a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment
  • have a sound knowledge of occupational safety and health legislation and the relevant standards
  • successfully pass a written examination(s) and interview
  • hold a current National Police Certificate.


Three years unless suspended or cancelled.
