Registration of Prescribed Premises - Western Australia

Description

You may need this registration if you intend to operate premises that will cause emissions. Emissions mean the:

  • discharge of waste
  • making of noise, odour or electromagnetic radiation
  • transmission of electromagnetic radiation.

Premises that cause emissions are prescribed premises. The types of prescribed premises which need registration include:

  • intensive livestock housing of cattle and pigs
  • chemical manufacturing, processing or handling
  • water treatment or desalination
  • ceramic goods manufacturing.

If your prescribed premises meets the requirements for a licence rather than this registration, you will need to apply for a licence instead.

In addition to your completed application form you must:

  • provide any information and documentation needed by the Agency, including information on the aspects of the proposal which cause or influence the potential for causing emissions to the environment
  • pay the applicable fees.

Transfer

You must notify the Agency if you become the occupier of a registered premises.
