Registration of Veterinary Premises - Western Australia


You will need this registration to run a veterinary practice business. Veterinary premises provide treatment and care for animals in need of surgical or medical treatment, may or may not allow animals to stay for care overnight.

You must make an application for each facility you intend to open.

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible for this registration, you must ensure:

  • the premises are in a satisfactory condition to be used for carrying on a veterinary practice business
  • the premises are designed, constructed and equipped in accordance with the prescribed requirements (if any)
  • arrangements for the management, control and operation of the premises, in relation to the practice of veterinary medicine at or from the premises, are in accordance with the prescribed requirements (if any)
  • the premises is under the management of a veterinary supervisor
  • the person in whose name the premises will be registered is, or proposes to be, a practice owner in relation to the premises and is not a person who is a bankrupt or a person whose affairs are under insolvency laws.
