Registration of Veterinary Premises - Western Australia


You will need this registration to run a veterinary clinic or hospital. These facilities provide treatment and care for animals in need of surgical or medical treatment.

The difference between the two facilities is:

  • at a veterinary clinic, animals may not stay overnight
  • at a veterinary hospital, animals may be cared for overnight.

A licence defines the need to obtain recognition / certification and registration to undertake a certain business activity.

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible for this registration you must:

  • ensure the premises is constructed, equipped, controlled, managed and operated in a manner prescribed or approved by the Board
  • ensure the premises is under the management of a veterinary surgeon
  • each person performing the duties of veterinary surgery is registered with the Board.
