A licence defines the need to obtain recognition / certification and registration to undertake a certain business activity.

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible for this licence you must:

• hold an exploration licence in respect of the block or blocks you are applying for (up to 20 blocks)
• ensure you and your employees who will likely be involved in your intended activities hold relevant technical qualifications
• have sufficient financial resources and technical advice to carry out your intended activities
• have identified and evaluated a significant mineral deposit in your exploration area
• demonstrate that mining the deposit is not commercially viable in the short term
• demonstrate that there is a reasonable prospect of development of the deposit in the long term.

Application process

If your application is successful, you will be provisionally granted a licence. To accept the licence, you will need to provide the agency with a written acceptance of the grant.

You will need to advertise your application in a newspaper circulating throughout the Western Australia within 14 days of making your application.
