Rules for Combat Sport Contests - Western Australia

You may be required to comply with these rules if you are involved in the combat sport industry.

The rules outline the requirements for Industry participants (for example promoters, trainers and medical practitioners), contestants and combat sport venues. All combat sport contests must be held in accordance with these rules. General requirements include:

  • the contest area (for example, ring requirements)
  • dress codes
  • conduct of the contests
  • duties and responsibilities of industry participants and contestants
  • rules of the game.

Approved rules are subject to change and will vary depending on the type of sport (for example, kickboxing, muay thai, mixed martial arts and boxing).

Please consult the Contact Officer for more information and to ascertain the level of compliance (if any) that may be required.
