Schedule 2 Retail Licence - Western Australia


You will require this licence if your business operates in a rural or remote area and you intend to sell by retail any drug listed as a Schedule 2 medicine. Schedule 2 medicine is normally only available for purchase from pharmacies. This licence can be issued if your business is over 25km from the nearest pharmacy.

You must nominate a responsible person to have overall responsibility for each premises on the permit. Qualifications/experience with medicines is not a pre-requisite to issuing the licence. Individual applicants and persons nominated to have overall responsibility for a premises must complete a Personal Information Form: Identification, Fitness and Probity. If the permit is to be issued to a partnership, or body corporate, each partner or corporate officer must complete the personal information form.
