Security Sensitive Ammonium Nitrate Fertiliser Licence - Western Australia

Description

You will need this licence if you are a primary producer and you intend to purchase, transport, store, handle or use a security sensitive ammonium nitrate (SSAN) based fertiliser. An SSAN is a substance that contains more that 45% ammonium nitrate unless it is an explosive or an aqueous solution.

Please note that this licence will not be issued for products containing more than 45% ammonium nitrate in solid form where the purpose is for household use or the fertilisation of recreational grounds such as sports grounds, parks and gardens. If you intend to transport large amounts of fertiliser (more than 3 tonnes in containers or 500 kilograms in bulk) you will instead need a dangerous goods transport licence.

Please note that the Agency recommends the use of an accredited dangerous goods consultant to prepare and submit your application.

Please consult the Contact Officer for more information.
