Security Sensitive Ammonium Nitrate Fertiliser Licence - Western Australia

Description

You will need this licence if you are a primary producer and you intend to purchase, transport, store, handle or use a security sensitive ammonium nitrate (SSAN) based fertiliser. SSAN is any substance that contains more than 45% ammonium nitrate unless it is an:

  • explosive
  • aqueous solution.

The agency recommends the use of an accredited dangerous goods consultant to prepare and submit your application.

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible for this licence you must:

  • be at least 21 years old
  • be able to keep any SSAN you possess secure
  • hold a current WA dangerous goods security card (DGSC)
  • have developed and can apply a security plan
  • need to possess of the SSAN for use as a fertiliser in primary production.

If you intend to apply as a partnership or company, you will need to have at least one qualified officer who must:

  • be at least 21 years old
  • be competent to keep any SSAN possessed under the licence secure
  • hold a current DGSC.
