Service Provider's (Ports) Licence - Western Australia


You will require this licence if you intend to operate as a service provider in a port operated by a port authority. A service provider is a person who may provide the following services to vessels in ports:

  • towage
  • boat line
  • bunkering
  • stevedoring
  • transport
  • bulk handling
  • mooring.

There are currently five port authorities:

  • Fremantle Port Authority
  • Southern Ports Authority
  • Mid West Ports Authority
  • Kimberley Ports Authority
  • Pilbara Ports Authority.

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible for this licence you must:

  • satisfy the Port Authority that you are sufficiently competent or qualified to perform the relevant services

  • pay the required fees.
