Sign Licence - City of Perth - Western Australia

Description

You will need this licence if you intend to erect or maintain a sign on a street, public place or on private land. Types of signs can include but are not limited to:

  • for sale or lease signs
  • display home signs
  • horizontal signs
  • illuminated signs
  • pylon or town sign
  • rural producer's sign
  • portable signs
  • political signs
  • sign panels.

You may need to also obtain planning approval to erect or maintain a sign.

A licence defines the need to obtain recognition / certification and registration to undertake a certain business activity.

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible for this permit you must provide two copies of your plans which detail the size, position, materials, design, inscription and the procedure for the installation of the sign.

You may need a certificate from a structural engineer approving the structural design.

Public liability insurance may also be required.
