Standards for Electrical Connections for Trailers - Western Australia

Description

You will need to comply with one of these standards if you intend to install or repair electrical connectors between motor vehicles and trailers or if you intend to supply, sell or use trailers.

Any electrical connectors between motor vehicles and trailers for operation of the vehicle lights must comply with at least one of:

  • AS 2513-1982 Electrical Connections for Trailer Vehicles
  • International Standards Organisation ISO 1185-1997
  • Society of Automotive Engineers SAE J 560-1998
  • AS 4735-2003 Heavy Road Vehicles - Electrical connectors for articulated vehicles.
