Temporary Firearms Permit - Western Australia

Description

You will need this permit to temporarily possess ammunition or a firearm. This permit entitles you to possess ammunition or a firearm for up to 3 months.

You may apply for this permit for the following activities:

  • a test or demonstration using ammunition or a firearm
  • the auctioning of ammunition or a firearm
  • the transit of ammunition or a firearm (such as to a Firearms Dealer)
  • a guided hunting tour.

You may only apply for this permit as an individual, not a company.

A licence defines the need to obtain recognition / certification and registration to undertake a certain business activity.

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible for this permit you must:

  • be at least 18 years old
  • be a fit and proper person
  • provide a genuine reason for why you need a permit
  • have a current firearm serviceability certificate for the relevant firearm
  • provide evidence of your identity
  • have passed a firearms safety test.
