Australian Standard AS 1906-1990 Retro-reflective Materials and Devices for Road Traffic Control Purposes - Western Australia

Description

You will be required to comply with this standard if you intend to operate a road train over 22m long or a school bus. A road train is a line of linked trailers pulled by a truck. You must display a warning sign coated with yellow retro-reflective material of class 1 or 2 that meets this standard.

The standard has now been superseded by AS/NZS 1906.1:2017 but the specific version of the standard you are required to comply with is AS 1906-1990 Retro-reflective Materials and Devices for Road Traffic Control Purposes.

The standard specifies the performance requirements for retro reflective materials used in the manufacture of road signs and related traffic control devices. Please consult the Contact Officer for more information and to ascertain the level of compliance that may be required by your business.
