Building Practitioner Registration - Western Australia

Description

You will require this registration if you intend to do building work as a nominated supervisor for a building contractor and the value of the work will exceed $20,000. This registration also authorises you to use the title of registered building practitioner for the building class for which you are registered. You do not require this registration if you are an employee of a building contractor.

This registration does not permit you to contract with consumers directly for building work. If you intend to contract with a consumer directly you will be required to apply for registration as a Building Services Contractor.

Application process

The registration and applications fees must be paid at the time of lodging an application for a building practitioner registration with the Board. If your application is unsuccessful the registration fee will automatically be refunded and posted to the address specified on the application form. The Board will write to you regarding the outcome of your application.

Your application cannot be processed unless all of the relevant information and supporting documentation is provided. At the time of lodgement, your application should be complete, signed and witnessed.

Approval times vary but may take up to several months.
