Code of Practice for Skin Penetration Procedures - Western Australia

Description

You will be required to comply with this code if you intend to operate an establishment where skin penetration procedures are undertaken. A skin penetration procedure is any that involves the tearing, cutting, puncturing or shaving of the skin, and includes services such as:

  • acupuncture
  • beauty treatments (such as waxing)
  • body piercing
  • cosmetic enhancements
  • tattooing.

A skin penetration procedure does not include any carried out by a dentist, medical practitioner, nurse, or podiatrist, or a person acting under the supervision of a dentist or medical practitioner.
