You may be required to comply with this code if you intend to run a circus, or handle circus animals. A circus is a mobile establishment in which animals are held and exhibited, and are made to perform.

This code outlines minimum welfare requirements for the care and management of circus animals. It covers activities including

  • housing
  • behaviour training
  • medical treatment
  • interaction with humans and other animals.
