Contaminated Sites Auditor Accreditation - Western Australia

Description

You will require this accreditation if you intend to act as a contaminated sites auditor. As an accredited auditor, you are authorised to undertake independent reviews of the remediation of contaminated sites undertaken by the people responsible for that site (for example, landowners). Managers of contaminated sites must engage accredited auditors to provide mandatory auditor's reports. Auditors accredited under similar schemes in other states and territories may be eligible for mutual recognition.

A licence defines the need to obtain recognition / certification and registration to undertake a certain business activity.

Eligibility Requirements

The Agency will call for applications for first-time accreditation as auditors by public advertisement at least once every two years. To be eligible for accreditation you must:

  • hold professional indemnity insurance cover
  • have adequate theoretical and practical knowledge and adequate skills to be an auditor
  • have access to people with complimentary knowledge and skills that would assist you perform your responsibilities as an auditor (where necessary)
  • have an adequate knowledge and understanding of relevant laws and accepted industrial standards
  • be a fit and proper person
  • provide any information and documents required by the Agency
  • complete the relevant application form
  • pay the required fees.
