Occasional Liquor Licence - Western Australia

Description

You may require a liquor licence if you intend to serve alcohol at an event that cannot be covered by another type of licence. This licence allows you to supply and sell liquor to people attending an event or function. An event or function means a gathering, occasion, including a sporting contest, show, exhibition, trade or other fair or reception. Examples of functions covered include:

  • exhibitions or shows where an entry fee is charged and liquor is offered
  • hire limousine services where alcohol is included
  • offering any service with free champagne.

An occasional liquor licence can be granted to authorise the sale of liquor for a function being held over a few hours or a number of days. Each licence cannot cover a period of more than 21 days between the start of the first function and the end of the last function.

Please note that certain activities may be exempt from the need to obtain this licence. Exemptions may apply to small charter vehicles, organisers of functions on licensed premises, farmers' markets, complimentary supply of liquor by business, occasional functions, and live entertainment venues. Please consult the Contact Officer for more information.
