Approval of a Public Offer Superannuation Fund - Australian Government

Description

You will require this approval if your corporation intends to act as trustee of public offer entities. Public offer entities make offers to members of the public of superannuation products.

A public offer entity means a:

  • public offer superannuation funds
  • pooled superannuation trusts
  • approved deposit funds.

A licence defines the need to obtain recognition / certification and registration to undertake a certain business activity.

Eligibility requirements

The applying entity must be a constitutional corporation and intend to be a trustee of:

  • an approved deposit fund
  • a public offer superannuation fund
  • a pooled superannuation trust.

It must satisfy prescribed asset backing requirements and must have the capacity to perform the role of a trustee.

Other accreditation and licences may be required, such as compliance with SIS fitness and propriety standards.
