Foreign Master Fishing Licence - Australian Government


You will require this licence if you act as the master of a foreign fishing vessel that is licensed to fish within the Australian Fishing Zone for commercial purposes.

The Australian Fishing Zone generally extends 200 nautical miles outward from the coast of Australia.

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible for this licence the vessel being used must hold a current Foreign Fishing Boat licence.

The holder of a foreign master fishing licence is in charge of a foreign boat that is being used for commercial fishing in a specified managed fishery, the licensee must comply with any obligations imposed on the holder by the relevant plan of management.
