You may require this registration if you intend to offer greenhouse and energy reporting audits to businesses and households. There are two categories of registered greenhouse and energy auditors, with each having different requirements as to technical qualifications, knowledge and experience. The agency no longer accepts Category 1 registrations.
Category 1 auditors can perform verification audits when category 2 auditors are not available and perform voluntary audits. Category 2 auditors can perform assurance engagements, verification audits and voluntary audits and are available to scheme participants who want to self-audit using registered greenhouse and energy auditors.
Audits must be led by a category 2 auditor.
