Medicinal Cannabis Licence - Australian Government

Description

You will require this licence if you intend to cultivate, produce or manufacture medicinal cannabis and / or engage in related activities for medicinal or scientific purposes.

There are three main activities that may be authorised under a licence:

  • cultivation (the growing of cannabis plants)
  • production (the separation of cannabis and cannabis resin)
  • manufacture (transforming cannabis and cannabis resin into a cannabis drug or extract)

You may apply to be licensed to undertake any one, or more, of these activities.

Please note, you may be required to hold additional licensing with your State or Territory Government.

Eligibility requirements

To apply for one of these licences you must:

  • be a fit and proper person
  • prove that there is a producer or manufacturer who will buy any raw materials you produce
  • provide details of your business and proposed cultivation site
  • complete the required form
  • pay the prescribed fees.
