Approval to Conduct Responsible Conduct of Gambling (RCG) Training Courses - New South Wales

Description

You will need approval to conduct training courses on the responsible conduct of gambling (RCG). RCG courses focus on:

  • types of gambling in New South Wales and Australia
  • detection of problem gambling
  • gaming machine laws to ensure a safe, responsible gambling environment
  • the proper communication with and management of patrons using gaming machines

Owners and employees of registered clubs and hotels with gaming machines must complete an RCG course.

A licence defines the need to obtain recognition / certification and registration to undertake a certain business activity.

Eligibility requirements

Each trainer delivering the course must:

  • be part of a registered training organisation (RTO)
  • hold a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or have another qualification that is considered to be equivalent
  • have at least three years experience as the holder of a managerial or supervisory position in a hotel or registered club
  • in the case of an approval to deliver the course online for a provider nominated by an industry association, the application must be accompanied by written confirmation of that nomination, which must include an explanation of the relationship between the industry association and the provider.
