Authorisation to Provide a Booking Service - NSW - Australian Business Licence and Information Service

Description

You will need this authorisation if you intend to provide a booking service for taxis, hire cars and rideshare vehicles.

Booking service providers include:

businesses that provide phone and internet booking services to taxi and hire vehicles providing passenger services
taxi and hire vehicle drivers who take bookings directly from customers.

A booking service includes taking the booking on behalf of another person / driver or driving the passenger transport yourself.

A licence defines the need to obtain recognition / certification and registration to undertake a certain business activity.

To become a booking service provider, you must:

not have committed a serious offence, and you must not be facing charges for a serious offence (such as murder, assault and drug supply)
not have had an application for an accreditation or authorisation under the Passenger Transport Act 1990 or Passenger Transport Act 2014 refused within the last 12 months
not have had an accreditation or an authorisation to operate a taxi network or a public passenger service cancelled or most recent application refused.
