You will need this licence if you intend to inject or apply polymeric material for the purpose of ventilation or strata control in a coal mine. Licences may be granted for ongoing use or trial applications.
The regulations designate certain activities as high risk. The operator of a coal mine is required to notify the agency before a high risk activity commences. Each high risk activity also has a waiting period which must elapse before the activity can commence.
The agency may also specify that a specific high risk activity can only be carried out by a person who holds the relevant licence. Injecting or applying polymeric material for the purpose of ventilation or strata control in a coal mine is considered a high risk activity.
