Pyrotechnician's Licence - New South Wales

Description

You will require this licence if you intend to purchase, possess, use or transport:

  • firework displays
  • distress signal (otherwise than for the purpose of a distress signal)
  • a model rocket propellant device containing an ignitable substance or ignitable substance exceeding 62.5 grams in mass.

This licence only permits you to possess a quantity necessary for a specific event. You will require approval if you intend to store more than the amount required for specific notified displays.

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible for this licence you must:

  • be at least 18 years old
  • hold a current security clearance
  • have the necessary qualifications, experience and knowledge
  • only use the fireworks for an organised public event and have a supporting letter from the local Council stating they have no objections.
