You will require this licence if you operate a private hospital, community health centre or other registered funded health service. A pharmacy department is part of a community health centre, hospital or other registered funded health service (agency) set aside for supplying, compounding or dispensing medicines to patients and staff.
Before you can start dispensing medicines your premises will also need to be registered as a pharmacy (this involves a separate application). A pharmacy department must be personally supervised by a registered pharmacist at all times it is open for business.
