You will need approval to collect, remove and dispose of the contents of a septic tank, holding tank or an apparatus for the treatment of sewage and other liquid waste. Approval will be granted if you hold a licence to transport septic waste (controlled waste carrier).
Approved activities must be undertaken according to any terms and conditions imposed by the council. These conditions could include the following:
- time and method of collection, removal or disposal of contents
- route that can be used to transport the contents
- type of liquid waste that can be collected.
If you obtain approval, you must provide regular reports to the council containing accurate information on the conduct of all approved activities.
