Heavy Vehicle Pilot Licence - Western Australia


You will require this licence if you intend to pilot a heavy vehicle. Heavy vehicle pilots facilitate the safe and efficient movement of oversize or overmass vehicles on public roads.

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible for a Heavy Vehicle Pilots Licence you must:

  • hold a current non-probationary Motor Drivers Licence
  • pass an Assessment of Fitness to Drive for Commercial Drivers examination
  • pass a Western Australian Heavy Vehicle Pilot training course from a registered training provider
  • complete an application form and pay the fee.
