Notification of a Nominated Supervisor - Western Australia

Description

You will need to notify the Agency if you nominate a supervisor for any service providing or intending to provide education and care on a regular basis to children under 13 years of age.

In order to nominate a supervisor you must be an approved provider, or a person with management or control of, an education and care service.

All nominated supervisors must give their written consent to the nomination, which is included in the notification and is also to be kept as part of the service staff records.

A licence defines the need to obtain recognition / certification and registration to undertake a certain business activity.

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible to make this notification you must:

  • be an approved provider or a person with management or control of an education or care service
  • hold a service approval for the service you intend to nominate the supervisor for.

To be granted a notification you must:

  • be at least 18 years of age
  • be a fit and proper person
  • have adequate knowledge and understanding of the provision of education and care to children
  • have the ability to effectively supervise and manage an education and care service
  • have completed the child protection training requirements
  • hold a current working with children check.

Prerequisites

Commencement

Lodge the notification at least seven days before the nominated supervisor commences work. However, if that period is not possible, the notification must be lodged no more than 14 days after the nominated supervisor commences work.

Duration

The notification is ongoing until you notify the agency that a person is no longer a nominated supervisor.
