You will need this authorisation if you intend to drive a vehicle for hire or reward. A Passenger Transport Declaration (PTD) authorisation is an annual authorisation that allows you to drive a vehicle for the purpose of transporting passengers for hire or reward.
You will not need this licence if you intend to / are:
- drive as a volunteer
- drive as a volunteer and have your costs reimbursed at a rate of $0.68 per kilometre
- employed by a transport service provider but driving is incidental to your main occupation
- drive in your capacity as a child care service operator or provider
- drive in a car pooling situation with 9 or less people.
If do not currently hold an F or T extension licence, you must apply for this licence before providing driving services for fee or reward.
