Taxi Licence - New South Wales

Description

You will need this licence if you intend to use a motor vehicle to provide a taxi service. A taxi licence gives a person (an individual, partnership, or body corporate) the right to register and use a motor vehicle as a taxi.

The licence does not need to be held by the provider of the taxi service, but may instead be held by an employee, contractor, or affiliated provider of the person providing the taxi service.

An application for a new taxi licence may be for a regular licence, or a wheelchair accessible taxi (WAT) licence.

Please note that conditions can be placed on licences (for example: the licensee may only be able to operate in a specified area).
