To be eligible for this permit, you will need:
- public liability insurance
- level 1 First Aid qualification
- a valid licence for the relevant firearm category
- to provide evidence of a genuine reason.
If you require a permit for use or carriage of a firearm in an enclosed area, genuine reasons may be:
- professional hunter
- (professional business) vermin (pest) controller
- performing arts and re-enactment groups
- feral bird control
- veterinary purposes
- zoo employees
If you require a permit for use or carriage of a firearm in an open area (eg. farmland or football ground), genuine reasons may be:
- primary production
- hunting
- sport / target.
